Tactic Type Custom Fields allow you to add distinct fields of structured data to each Tactic Type independently for planning, tracking, and reporting purposes. Tactic Type Custom Fields are viewable in the Tactic Detail and can hold four types of data: text, number, link, or image.

As an example, for blog posts you could add the following Tactic Type Custom Fields:

1. Author
2. Copy Direction
3. Image
4. Link

How are Tactic Type Custom Fields different from the Notes field? 

The Notes field appears for both Tactics and Initiatives and accepts unstructured data which encompasses a variety of data types including rich text, links, images, and numbers. As such, this data cannot be viewed in the Table view directly (each column can only show one type of data, instead we show a hover icon) and cannot be exported as part of a CSV document. This data cannot be mapped for integration with another app unless only one specific type of data is utilized in the field, e.g. text. Tactic Type Custom Fields allow you to add distinct fields of structured data (text, link, image, or number) to each Tactic Type independently. Because of their complexity, Tactic Type Custom Fields are limiting and can only be seen in the Tactic detail. They cannot be viewed in the Table view and cannot be exported as a CSV file. How are Tactic Type Custom Fields different from Universal Tactic Fields? 

Universal Custom Fields allow you to add fields of structured data universally to all Tactic Types at once. Universal Tactic Fields accept structured data of one specific type (text, link, image, or number). Because they are associated with all Tactic Types, they can be viewed in a Table, downloaded as a CSV file, and synced via an integration with another software app. Tactic Type Custom Fields allow you to add distinct fields of structured data (text, link, image, or number) to each Tactic Type independently. Because of their complexity, Tactic Type Custom Fields are limiting and can only be seen in the Tactic detail. They cannot be viewed in the Table view and cannot be exported as a CSV file.
